Dear Friends of the Soup Kitchen:
In 2012, 48,667 meals were served by the Enfield Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen, with approximately 37%, being served to children, with an additional 22,430 snacks prepared for children in the ERfC Educational Resources for Children (after school program).This is a sad and sobering reminder of the ever-growing problem of hunger within our own community. Another 7,644 meals were provided for home consumption to families in emergency situations. These less fortunate people are in need of your help, especially with the current national economic downturn.
Meals are planned by the food services director and volunteers and are varied, well balanced and nutritious.
Typical Meals Include:

We rely solely on the generosity of our volunteers and donations, and we're always looking for new help. Volunteers are welcome Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Some of our volunteer duties include: setting up for dinner, preparing foods, fundraising, answering the telephone and taking messages, receiving donations, serving meals, caring for leftover foods, clean up, and help in picking up donations at various sites.
